Tomorrow I have a job interview. “At last” I’m thinking. It only took a year.
This is a very positive sign. The company in question (Intrinsyc) is based in Halesowen, to the West of Birmingham. They design and manufacture PDA’s and other single board computers for development purposes, so that a PDA software developer (for instance) can try out the latest hardware and have debugging facilities. This helps hardware and software developers get their product to market much quicker than before.
So they are looking for a Field Applications Engineer, the role involves consulting with a potential customer and trying to convince them that your solution is the answer to their problem, of course with all the technical information to go with it. The role is quite technically involved and will need demos setting up, test applications writing etc.
It all looks really good and I have to say the salary is quite attractive.
The only real downside is that it’s at least an hours drive away. This is not so bad though, as only two days would be in the office, the rest on customers sites.
Wish me luck!
