Regular visitors will have noticed…. nothing new about the site today!
That means that my upgrade from Wordpress 1.2 to 1.5 went without a hitch.

So why bother?
A good question to be fair.
Mainly because of the new anti-spam features, partly because of the new plugin and template management systems and slightly… why not?

Today I handed my notice in at my current place of work!

I’m now looking forward to my new role, and at last I can talk about it with my friends at work instead of hiding everything. Every day now I’m one step closed to leaving and starting fresh doing something more enjoyable and better paid! I thought I’d never be so lucky!

While it doesn’t give much away, it does seem to work! Now the trick is to use the link (e.g. Barclays Premiership - Winner 2004/05) to inport the data into a program or spreadsheet.

As you can see I use Google AdSense on my blog, this helps me to cover the costs of hosting my own website and domain registration fees. To be fair the AdSense revenue is ok but nothing spectacular, one of the reasons is that the ads displayed aren’t always relevant to my website and hence you my readers.
I’ve recently discovered a company that have been around for a long time: TradeDoubler. I don’t know why I didn’t find them sooner, I wish I had! For one thing my rewards as a publisher are potentially significantly higher, as sales commissions are often a percent of the sale price not just a price for the “click”.
The best part in my opinion though is that I can choose who advertises on my own site, and it’s not down to a bot or spider to determine my site contents. So this means more interesting and relevant ads for you and, hopefully, more commission for me!
