Further to my earlier post you’ll be please to hear all the arrangements are more for my new motor (GTM Libra), not least of all the car insurance.
I have to admit that buying car insurance is not something I look forward to, all the ringing around, computerised phone systems, giving all the details out again and again … etc … etc
Well it turns out that for kitcars it’s even worse!
Most insurers don’t have an online enquiry system, and those that do email you the quote.
You have to give loads of extra details about the donor vehicle and the build.
Cover varies wildly. For instance, show attendance, track days, laid-up cover, parts only or parts and labour, commuting.
One good (?) thing is the lack of choice, because at least you only have 10-15 insurers to ring round rather than the possible 300+ for regular insurance. Mind you more competition can only mean lower prices.
At the end of the day I got my kitcar insured for £550 approx. which is actually the same as my daily runner. Not bad in my opinion.
Looking a bit short in the games section, so I thought I’d add this hilarious game I found tonight. Help Carl (who lost his head) to get his head back. You play some kind of squishy dumpling that can form different shapes to help your buddy.
Strange but funny: Head Games
If you’re bored one day, check out this list of amazing satellite maps:

And a few of my own:

Castle Donnington Racetrack (with East Midlands Airport to the right)
The Aswan Dam, Egypt
The Necropolis, Athens
Niagra Falls (look closely and you will the Maid of the Mist)
I’ve just bought a kit car of my own - a GTM Libra - just like I’ve always wanted!
I bought the car from a friend and fellow member of :TeamGTM:, and as sson as it’s taxed and insured it’ll be my daily runner. Pictures to follow!
I’m too excited to write!
