Back from Prague (Praha)

Last Wednesday night we left for Prague in the Czech Republic and returned late on Saturday night, so we had three days and three nights in the city. We timed it so that we’d see the famous Christmas Markets but not so close to Christmas that the prices were ridiculous. Actually the prices were ok, we got a budget flight from the UK with EasyJetwww.easyjet.co.uk from Nottingham East Midlands Airportwww.nottinghamema.com and the hotel (the Astoriawww.pragueholiday.cz) wasn’t too bad either.
Prague has a reputation for being quite cold so we took plenty of warm clothes even though the forecast said temperatures would be close to the UK. For a nice change the forecast was accurate although it did cool down towards the weekend. It has been a warm year for all of Europe though (the Met Officewww.metoffice.gov.uk has confirmed the warmest UK autumn on recordwww.metoffice.gov.uk), and in fact some winter sports in the Czech Republic were canceled at the weekend due to a lack of snow.

Anyway enough typing, here’s some photos:

Hi Suzanne, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it especially the Christmas markets. Watch out for pick-pockets though, apparently they are rife although we never had a problem or heard of anyone else who had that problem.
What are you particularly looking forward to?
Perhaps when you get back you could but a few words here about what you enjoyed the most?

    Enjoy yourself!
