The Alpha Romeo 159 headlights are proving to be rare…
However for less than £10 I got myself a used Ford Puma headlight, I’ll try it out and see what it’s like for my new bonnet project. They take a xenon/hid bulb.
I’ll keep looking out for the alpha lights but hopefully these will do the job.

Spotted something that might interest you – a Pug 206 with an aftermarket light kit. The lights were in three seperate tubes (just like the Puma).
Don’t know if they’d be any better or not.
