Regular readers will know that I started my new job today.
I’ve not had many jobs in my short career but as first impressions go I’ll be at my new place for a while. Everyone is friendly, helpful etc and their products seem pretty good, so all being well I’m in for the long haul.
For the best part of the week I’ll be setting up one of their hardware products and configuring the software to do some call generation.
At this company anyway!
We both have tomorrow off and we’re going to Alton Towers for the day to relax and have some fun before I start fresh on Monday.
I’m counting down the days now!
As the day draws near I’m getting more and more impatient with the people at my current company, I do seem to be asked of more complex and intensive tasks though. Maybe they are trying to get the most out of me before I go? Who knows but I’m in a good mind to ask to leave early, if I thought I had half a chance I would for sure.
I’ll just have to bite my tongue and put up with it.

Today I handed my notice in at my current place of work!
I’m now looking forward to my new role, and at last I can talk about it with my friends at work instead of hiding everything. Every day now I’m one step closed to leaving and starting fresh doing something more enjoyable and better paid! I thought I’d never be so lucky!
Ok, it’s about time I filled you in on some of the recent events.
The interview for the software engineer went very well the other week, and in fact I was verbally offered the job first thing on Monday morning!
I’ve now received the formal offer in writing from the company.
It’s all a bit of a dream come true really. To be honest I didn’t know how well I’d done in the interview/test and it was a suprise as much as a relief to hear I’d been sucessful.
It took all of my effort not to grin for the whole day that I found out, but I’ve been holding my breath until this week just in case the formal offer fell through. Of course it hasn’t (it was just me being paranoid) and soon I’ll be leaving my current position to move on to pastures new.
This is the other book that came in pretty handy. It’s very similar to the one below, but a bit less dense on the text.
Because this book was a breeze to understand to was an excellent accompaniment to the other book I’d bought. Between them I managed to understand what I was looking at with enough clarity to refresh my memory an kick-start the learning!
