House Hunt

The house hunt is coming on nicely.
After seeing some more houses we went back to see House 2, but this time we asked a good friend to come along. He bought a house last year so he’s more experienced than us, and he knows more about structure and building than us two. He gave us his opinion on the house generally (particularly on the out building to the side of the house) and it all looked good.
The three of us had a chat about the house, location, money etc and decided to make an offer. The offer was passed on by the estate agent to the owner who reserved his decision until the Monday, then we had a bit of haggling back and forth on the phone and a deal was struck!
There was another buyer that also made an offer so we paid a bit more than we first offered, but still less than the asking price. I think we paid about the right price in the end.
We are now going through the legal process of mortgages, solicitors, surveys and all the rest of it. This will take about 4-6 apparently but obviously that can vary a lot as there are so many people involved.
