Brake lines

The braking system on the GTM Libra splits the braking front and rear and not as in the Metro across the car. The brake pipes provided in the kit are Kunifor. The rear brake pipe runs through the tunnel. Four brackets are provided in the kit to bolt to the monocoque and provide location where the flexible brake hoses mount to the solid brake pipes.

Assembly

The cunifer brake pipes provided within the GTM Libra kit are bendable by hand without any special tooling. Take great care to ensure that the pipes are all correctly seated within their locations and of course once the brake lines are full of fluid make sure that you have no leaks. The drawings show the position of the brake pipes where they are attached to the monocoque at the front and rear and on later cars the positions of the mountings are indicated on the tub by slight indentations.

The rear brakes are attached to the top of the K Series Rover Metro master cylinder. From the rear of the car the rear brake pipe runs over the top of the petrol tank and down the tunnel in the position shown on the drawing.

P Clip this pipe to the side of the tunnel and under the petrol tank.
