Hydraulic clutch
From GTM Workshop
On the 1800 engine and gearbox units a hydraulic clutch in employed rather than a cable. On the Libra this hydraulic clutch is utilised and this requires a modification to the Metro pedal box assembly used at the front of the car. The GTM utilises the MGF clutch master cylinder GMC901067. A special clutch pedal T0709 and hydraulic hose T0708 are included in the 180Occ auxiliary pack hydraulic.
Assembly
To mount the MGF master cylinder to the Metro pedal box plate it is first necessary to modify the plate in line with the drawing enclosed at the back of the manual. Once this modification has been made the MGF master cylinder can be bolted directly to the top of the plate and connected through onto the special clutch pedal T0709 The master cylinder mounts on a uneven surface and it is important to weather seal this with an appropriate silicone sealer.
A special hydraulic hose T0708 attaches to the hydraulic master cylinder and runs through the car in much the same way as the cable for the standard clutch and attaches to the slave cylinder attached to the 1800 gearbox.
