Most car insurers won't insure specialist cars, modified cars, or kit cars.
The car insurers listed below specialise in kit car insurance and most offer additional benefits such as
- Build-up cover
- Laid-up cover
- Track day cover
- Parts only or parts and labour
- Salvage retention
- Lower premiums (owners take care of their pride and joy!)
There are a number of drawbacks in comparison to ordinary vehicle insurance though
- Low mileage-limits or price-breaks
- Much higher premiums unless you have another vehicle as your main car
- Restrictions on commuting, or business use
