Spyder Engine Compartment Grills

From GTM Workshop

Jump to: navigation, search

The GTM Spyder has two outlet grills on top of the engine to let the air out of the engine compartment. They are so designed as to let the air out but not let any water in air leaves the top of the engine compartment through holes in the air outlets drilled in front of the grill section. Air goes through these holes through the box section and Out the air grills. Any water that collects in the box section exits through small holes drilled on the outside back corners of the boxes.

Assembly

Start by drilling the large holes in the boot lid top box section of the air vents to allow the air out of the engine bay. Drill these holes using a suitable circular saw. Drill the two small holes to allow the water to exit the air vents as show in the position on the drawing.

Attach the stainless steel grills to the bottom of the top air vents. These grills can be attached using any proprietary adhesive like Texaflex When the grills are dry and securely fixed Texaflex the top covers in place. Be careful not to put an excessive amount of Texaflex on the join. Any excess can be cleaned away using a screwdriver or similar with a cloth attached to it and taken round the edge of the aperture.
