AJAX Development Kits Rundown
InfoWorld has a nice rundown of the most popular AJAX tools and libraries available to developers, this will be handy as I’m thinking about using AJAX on my freeLoughborough site…
Writing AJAX sites
Computerworld has a great article on writing AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML).
From wikipedia:
AJAX is a web development technique for creating interactive web applications. The intent is to make web pages feel more responsive by exchanging small amounts of data with the server behind the scenes, so that the entire web page does not have to be reloaded each time the user makes a change.

Boost GPS phone - useless
If you read my recent post you will know I’ve been looking into the Motorola Boost range of handsets to help me out.
Accorcding to the J2ME Polish site the i730 is ideal, however it turns out that there are no iDEN network operators in the UK, or in Austrailia… ![]()
Back to the drawing board.
About Devine Projects
Devine Projects is my own little place on the web where I can try out ideas that I come up with. Some may be community projects that you might like to participate in, others will be a resource or utility and some may naver be available publicly (I changed my mind or maybe it didn’t work)
Devine Projects News is the place where I jott down ideas for new and existing projects, make notes about research and write about problems I’m having. I’m you want to contribute on any of these notes you will find a comment form on the bottom of most posts.
Boost GPS phone
I’m looking into this (quite old?) collection of iDEN mobile phones, they have a GSM and GPS chipset so you can always find your location. They support JAVA too so that make a great platform for mobile tracking applications, and of course mobile blogging.
I’ve got to find out if they are supported in the UK and Australia, and see if there is a camera phone model. That would help greatly with my project Interesting Places.
Adsense Earnings RSS Feed
This is a rather simple script that will create an RSS feed with your daily Adsense earnings, making it easy to track them via your regular feed reader.

Test Post - It Happened Here
I just installed and configured a new plugin on the site - ItHappenedHere!, and this is a quick test post so I can see the results.
By the way, it took about one minute to install, and that’s including getting the Google Maps API keys!
For my reference and yours, the Google documentation (although you won’t need it) can be hard to find so here’s a link: Google Maps API Documentation
Wordpress Templates
The next step for this new page is a visual overhaul.
This template for the site is the default, and let’s face it: it just won’t do!
I’m looking for something bright and light, nice and cheerful. It needs to be simple too because no-one like clutter.
Stay tuned.
Thumbs Up for Wordpress
I never would have thought it woud be so easy set up and import a blog, but there we go. Wordpress and it’s supporters have made it so easy it’s untrue.
I can’t recommend it highly enough!
Bye bye blogger.
While I’m signed on to blogger, I may as well mention that I will be moving away from it shortly.
I’ve fallen out with the interface and the lack of support from blogger. I’ll be hosting the blog as I did before but I’ll use an independent publishing tool instead.
I’ve been checking a few out and I think WordPress looks damn fine so far, so I’ll try that out first, it even has a blogger import function!
There is a working demo at opensourcecms.
Well ok…. I admit it!
I’ve not even looked at my own site in ages…
Yes I know I said I’d do all that stuff, and I really meant it but let’s face it: the project is on the back burner! I think you knew that already actually, in fact who are you? Surely no one reads this thing???
One day, during this decade, definitely before my hosting needs renewing, or at least before I die, I will begin again on this project, with renewed energy and vigor!
Who knows, it might even work too!
But even more unlikely than that, someone might use it!
Yours truthfully,
eLenders
I’m still alive
Just a post to let say that I’m still alive and well, but I’ve been so busy I’ve not done very much on the website. Ok, I’ve not done anything on the website, but if you know me then you will know why. You can of course just read my other blog.
Soon I’ll be going to Egypt on my holidays and I’ll have much more time on my hands, maybe then some of the items on the to do list will get crossed off.
Heres hoping!
